Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. We actively work to ensure that our website is accessible and usable by people of all abilities.
Accessibility guidelines
All pages of this website aim to conform to level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. These guidelines are the internationally recognised benchmark for building accessible websites.
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines also makes web content more user-friendly for all people.
Web standards and technologies
This website has been built to comply with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. These technologies are relied upon throughout the site. The site displays correctly in all popular browsers and degrades gracefully in older browsers.
This website uses JavaScript. This technology is not relied upon and the website works perfectly well without it. Where JavaScript has been used, it meets the same high levels of accessibility as the rest of the site.
Increasing the font size (Zoom in and out)
To increase the font size, press ctrl+ '+' or '-' on your keyboard if you're using Windows and Cmd+ '+' or '-' for Mac. Alternatively, you can do this in your browser:
- Internet Explorer: choose the drop-down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked 'View'. A list of options will appear in the drop-down menu - choose 'Text Size' and select your preference
- Firefox: choose the drop-down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked 'View'. A list of options will appear in the drop-down menu - choose 'Zoom' and then 'Zoom In'
- Google Chrome
Access Keys
Our website does not offer any access keys to avoid any interference with Screen reader technologies. Screen readers already include keyboards shortcuts and disabled users can find keyboard shortcuts an additional and unnecessary burden.
